Secretarial Services in the management and overall coordination of the Secretarial
Services.

Specifically, the officer will be responsible for:

Photogrammetry, Geomatics Engineering, Geospatial and Space Technology or equivalent
qualification from a recognized Institution;

Bachelor of Science Degree in any of the following disciplines, i.e. Physics, Mathematics,
Geography or cognate subjects with Postgraduate Diploma in Land Surveying or its equivalent
qualifications from a recognized university;

(iii) demonstrated a high standard of professional competence and administrative ability required

(iv) full membership of the Institution of Surveyors of Kenya (Land Surveyors chapter) and be registered as a licensed Land Surveyor by the Kenya Land Surveyors’ Board;.

• The Deputy Director of Surveys will be responsible to the Director of Surveys for planning,
direction, control and co-ordination of the Division and Provincial Offices.

engineering, topographical, cartographic, photogrammetric and photolighographic) in the
Divisions, Provinces and Districts;

(ii) have wide knowledge and experience in all matters relating to the design and
management of mechanical services installations, their operations, inspection, testing and
maintenance; and

(iii) be conversant with Government regulations dealing with finance, personnel and
stores management, tendering etc.

Duties and Responsibilities

The Principal Superintendent (Mechanical) Building Services will be overall in charge of all the
technical staff.

He/she will be responsible to the Chief Electrical and Mechanical Engineer in ensuring that the
correct standards are maintained in mechanical design drawings and specifications for
installations, commissioning, testing and maintenance of mechanical plants, equipments,
machinery and accessories in public buildings, airports, hospitals, institutions, among others.

He/she will also be responsible for the planning, costing and financial control of all work
relating to design and maintenance of mechanical plants and accessories.

The Officer will also assist in tendering and awarding of contracts and processing of contract
documentation for the installation of mechanical services in public buildings, hospitals etc. In
addition, the officer will be responsible for the training and development of all technical staff
under him/her.


Deputy Principal Fire Officer

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must have:

(i) served in the grade of Chief Fire Officer Job Group ‘M’ for a minimum period of

and protection; and

(iii) shown initiative and ability to plan, direct and control fire fighting and fire

Duties and Responsibilities

and protection services.

For appointment to this grade, a candidate must:

(i) have served satisfactorily in the grade of Senior Superintendent (Electrical) Job

(ii) be in possession of a Higher Diploma in Electrical Engineering from the Kenya
National Examinations Council or other approved equivalent qualifications

OR

be in possession of a Diploma in Electrical Engineering from the Kenya National Examinations

• maintaining electrical control related to diesel generating plants, low and medium voltage
distribution services, domestic appliances such as lifts and boilers in public buildings,
hospitals and other institutions;
• assisting in preparation of budgetary and establishment proposals;
• planning, design and specifications of PABX equipment in Government buildings;
• collecting data and processing tenders; and
• supervising all electrical staff under him/her.
