Branch Manager - Eldoret Branch Credit Bank Ltd

Ref: HRBM/002/2015
 
Reporting to the Senior Chief Manager – Business Development, the incumbents will be responsible for achievement of business targets and effective management of branch operations within regulatory framework and the Bank’s policies and risk guidelines.

Main Duties:
·                     Business planning and growth (deposits and lending) as well as customer growth and retention
·                     Management information reporting and integrity
·                     Profit improvement and cost management
·                     Quality of service in branch service delivery.
·                     Minimization of exposures to and impact of operational risks inherent in branch service delivery
·                     Leadership which translates into conducive work environment and employee satisfaction at the branch.
·                     Branch structure and application of established policies, processes, procedures and tools in achieving compliance requirements, optimal efficiency, resource utilization and cost containment.

Minimum qualification and experience required:
·                     University Degree – Upper second or equivalent
·                     Proficiency in computer use including MS Office tools and banking systems
·                     At least 7 years banking experience 5 of which should be in a Branch Management, sales or relationship management experience

African Developement Bank - Young Professional Program

The Young Professionals Program (YPP) at the African Development Bank (AfDB) Group aims at attracting highly qualified and motivated professionals from its member countries, who are committed to African development, have demonstrated outstanding academic and professional achievement, as well as effective team work and leadership potential.

Through the Young Professionals Program, the Bank aims to ensure continuity and excellence in both the management of projects and the provision of policy advice to its regional member countries. Young Professionals have the opportunity to work across the continent and be at the forefront of exciting Bank initiatives that are helping to shape Africa’s future.

ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA

The following established eligibility requirements guide the recruitment of the Young Professionals, and at no time will the Bank make an exception for any candidate:

  • Citizen of a member country (regional or non-regional) of the AfDB
  • A maximum of 32 years of age by December 31st of the selection year
  • A minimum of a Master’s degree or equivalent in Economics, Engineering, Social Sciences, International Development, Business Administration, Finance or any discipline that is relevant to the business of the Bank
  • Multi-disciplinary background and a minimum of three years relevant work experience
  • Outstanding academic credentials
  • Demonstrated commitment to African development (field experience on the continent and/or in other developing countries is an added advantage)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English or French with a working knowledge of the other language (working knowledge of a third language that is relevant to the Bank’s operation in the African continent is an advantage)
  • Ability/motivation to work in a multicultural work environment
  • Demonstrated leadership potential
  • Demonstrated strong analytical skills, dynamism, results-orientation, and problem-solving capability

Strategic Interest

  • In accordance with the Bank’s long-term strategy, the strategic focus of the Bank lies within the areas of Infrastructure, Governance, Private Sector and Higher Education.
  • Particular attention will be given to candidates who have demonstrated skills and experience related to the above-mentioned strategic areas, and also Regional Integration, Agriculture, Gender, Environment, Climate Change and Knowledge Management, Macroeconomics, Fiduciary Risks, IT and HR.

Applicants who have obtained one or more of their degrees from African Universities are highly encouraged to apply.

The Bologna Process has confirmed that under the new LMD system, the MaĆ®trise is not equivalent to the current Master’s degree in the French system. Accordingly, candidates who present equivalencies to the Master’s degree (in both the Anglo-Saxon and French systems), must provide written verification from the university or academic institution that confer the degree.
